A beautiful, original Scottish design, inspired by our everyday lives in Edinburgh.

Where was the picture taken? 
 
There is a hidden garden at the pegs creative workspace on St Mary's Street where thistles grow! In the summer, the marsh thistle grows and in the spring of 2024,  a coastal thistle appeared in the garden. 
 
My family and I all spend time in the garden when we work in St Mary's St. Each of us notices different flowers and relates in different ways. This thistle was hard to miss. It was about 2 feet tall with purple, pink and green on it's head as it flowered. 

Everyone was excited to see the giant, pinky thistle, and my stepfather and I both took great photographs of it.

Choosing the Thistle!
 
Since we started working in St Mary's St, we have all become inspired by the old town to be creative, and we hope to create unique gifts and souvenirs that are inspired by our Edinburgh lives.
 
My thistle worked better as an iconic representation of the Scottish emblem as it was just a close up of the head.
 
If you've visited us in St Mary's Street on the Royal Mile, you'll have seen the thistle on the cushions and canvases.
