Why The Peg Gallery?
The peg brand tells the story of our business and it's recover from the global pandemic.
The old shops on St Mary’s Street stretch from the street to the garden in the back. For years, my mother looked for the perfect location for a laundry in central Edinburgh. During lock-down, she met the landlord at St Mary's Street and was pleased to be offered the space.
Our basement hosts a laundry. The street level became the pegs, a gallery, workspace and podcasting place. The clothes peg icon and name of the gallery and workspace represents the part of the business that survived lockdown, the laundry service.
The peg brand was born out of a desire to show our gratitude to the people whose everyday efforts make visitors stays.

I’m proud to be able to use my photography collection to support The Peg Gallery.

Every photographer hopes to show their work and share it with the world. I have the opportunity here in Scotland, where I was born, to contribute to our cultural life by sharing my collection.

It’s especially fun when the fringe and international festival is on in August, and I’m delighted to be able to participate.
